The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Goldberger
- “I had an unsuccessful Bunionectomy and hammertoe surgery eight years ago. My bunion returned and my hammertoe was not straight and did not purchase (touch the ground). I saw two other surgeons before I chose Dr. Michael Goldberger. The other two surgeons claimed my tendon around my hammertoe could not be released nor repaired. Dr. Goldberger was very confident that he could repair it and he did! He also successfully removed a neuroma from my left foot at the same time. I have been running for 35 years and I now have a titanium plate in my right foot. It’s been five months post surgery and I am now in a partial run/walk workout. I have minimal scarring and I am very pleased with my progress. I do not feel the plate when I walk or run. My only regret is that Dr. Goldberger did not perform my first surgery! Christian Spencer was extremely patient with my recovery questions as well. Their staff is professional and pleasant. Appointments were on time and the overall experience was top notch. I highly recommend Dr. Goldberger and his team.”– Lorraine M.
- “I have been seeing Dr. Goldberger for about five years for various ankle Injuries. When seeing Dr. Goldberger for the first time I was actualy walking on the base of my left leg not the foot itself. After several minor ankle surgeries I had to have a minimally invasive ankle replacement (three years ago). About six months after the replacement, I was completely done with physical therapy and three more months later I was walking like I did 30 years ago. Without this type replacement surgery I wouldn't being doing all the activities that I enjoy; walking, camping, gardening, and keeping up with my one year old grandson. The pain/recovery of this surgery is very extensive, but is was so worth it. Dr. Goldberger works with you all long during recovery as a caring orthopedic surgeon!”– Mary C.
- “I was referred to Dr. Goldberger from my primary care physician. Dr. Goldberger examined me for a very painful left big toe. He diagnosed it as a typical mature person's dilemma when the cartilage between the bones wears out. We discussed various remedies, which are still in progress. I thought that the entire experience in your office, and with the attending staff was courteous and excellent.”– Vincent T.
- “Dr. Goldberger was very attentive and caring. He and his associates did an excellent job preparing me for surgery on my foot and the post-op attention was very thorough. I am glad that I had such a competent and dedicated doctor doing my surgery. I would recommend him and the team to anyone for their future needs.”– Doug J.
- “I suffered for an entire year with a stress fracture in my large toe on my left foot. You name it, I had everything from sever pain, foot brace, then foot boot, constant fever in the instep. A podiatrist just didn't do the job. My son, who works with the group, made me make an appointment with Dr. Goldberger. The first visit was all it took. He diagnosed the proper care, orthotics, and prescription gel. I can finally walk my 2 miles a day, pain free.”– Barbara P.
- “I was injured while at dance class, shortly before I turned 15. The diagnosis was torn fibers in my Achilles. After a year of physical therapy, casts, boots, natural remedies, etc., I was recommended to Tri-County Orthopedics. Dr. Goldberger recommended surgery because we had tried everything else. Finally, over a year later, after having surgery, during my spring break, less than 3 months later, I'm living life as a 16-year-old should. I'm planning to return to dance after being side lined for over a year. I appreciate Dr. Goldberger and the entire staff at Tri-County Orthopedics for giving me back my life.”– Gabriela D.
- “I had a completely flat foot with a very bad bunion. I proceeded to see Dr. Goldberger to assess the options I had as far as treatment went. I started with custom-made orthotics and followed the doctor’s orders. After 6 months, I saw improvement as fair as pain is concerned. I booked another appointment with Dr. Goldberger and he explained the next step was surgery. The surgery would consist of anywhere from 2 to 4 parts. He discussed with me the options of doing a bunionectomy, the Evan's procedure for calcaneal/metatarsal lengthening, with a possibility of an Achilles' tendon lengthening and lengthening of the ligaments in my toes. After being prepped at the out-patient center for surgery, both Dr. Goldberger and his PA came and re-explained the whole procedure and explained that we would be doing the bunionectomy, the Evan's procedure, and the Achilles' tendon lengthening. Post-op, the pain was minimal thanks to a suggested nerve block as well as necessary medication. The first week of post-op was the most painful, but after the second week, almost all pain was either gone or minimal and swelling decreased tremendously. I am very satisfied with Dr. Goldberger's work, and will return to do the other foot!”– Aidan Z.
- “I broke my ankle on the job, and needless to say, it was very painful. Because of Dr. Goldberger's ability to put me at ease, he reassured me that I would heal and be back to my old self, in time of course. He also explained everything from x-rays to the MRI to physical therapy, and let me know the healing process was proceeding as normal. In my opinion, Dr. Goldberger is truly an exceptional asset to Tri-County Orthopedics. I only wish all of the people in the medical profession I have business with were as outstanding as Dr. Goldberger.”– Thomas N.
- “In 2013, Dr. Goldberger performed surgery to correct an Achilles tendon tear. The surgery, aftercare at his office, and rehab where I reside, were most successful in returning my foot/heel to excellent condition. There were the obvious difficult days of recuperation, but I can walk without problems. The care and attendance of Dr. Goldberger and staff were the best. It was a welcoming atmosphere, and I was never made to wait nervously or with any concerns. All was well. In 2014, Dr. Paul Lombardi performed a total right knee replacement on Tuesday, May 6th. Within a two-month period, I was walking. In fact, I came home on Friday, and was met by our in-house therapist. She had a walker ready, taking me for a jaunt around the main floor with no problem. I am now fully functional, only carrying a cane for reassurance every once in awhile, but basically in great shape. Again, the postoperative office visits were actually enjoyable. I am extremely happy that Tri-County was right-around-the-corner from my new residence when I moved here from Florida in 2012.”– Sister Barbara G.
- “I had Morton's Neuroma in my foot for years. I decided to have it removed and Dr. Goldberger did an amazing job. My recovery was speedy with minimal pain. Now here I am, 11 weeks later, and back at work totally pain free. The scar is bearly noticeable. Thank you, Dr. Goldberger.”– Cynthia K.
- “Left ankle surgery in Dec. Dr. Goldberger and his PA were wonderful and I am very satisfied with the entire experience. Also, I have had terrific experience, on several occasions, with Dr. Lombardi.”– Gary V.
- “I would like to thank you for the surgery you performed on my left foot on Oct 26, 2015. I would also like to thank you and your team for the wonderful care everyone provided me with before, during and after my surgery. I have been in the medical field almost thirty years and I was treated with dignity, respect and, above all, compassion. Your experience as a physician was evident from the very first initial consultation with you. Your physician assistant Ms. Marianne Cabezas was very professional and made feel very much at ease during the entire process. Tri-County Orthopedics provided me with a service which I will always be thankful and will never forget. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Goldberger to those who might be considering have foot or ankle surgery. ”– J.D.Patient Rating:
- “I fractured my ankle the beginning of January, 2013 on the first icy day of a winter with many ice and snow storms. Overlook ER hit its maximum admission number with staffing not being permitted to leave and doctors being called in. After many hours of sitting in the hallway, I returned home on crutches with my X-rays knowing I had a fractured ankle. Dr. Goldberger's office scheduled me as one of the first of many patients who had fell to the storm. I had seen Dr. Goldberger previously for plantar fasciitis, and believed him to be an excellent doctor. He also came highly recommended by my daughter-in-law who made phone calls to professionals in the field. If I needed a surgeon, he was recommended. At that point, I did not know I needed surgery. I probably was in denial. Dr. Goldberger calmly told me that I did need surgery and scheduled it for Wednesday. The surgery went smoothly for me, and he advised my son after surgery it was textbook. My recovery was uneventful and Doctor Goldberger was flexible with the splint due to surgery I was supposed to have on the same leg as a result of a basal cell diagnoses. That actually waited until after splint came off. The bottom line is Dr. Goldberger did a wonderful job on my two fractured bones. I am blessed to have requested his services because I am back 100%; swimming, hiking, skiing, walking as far as I want in NYC and have been back to tennis for past three months. I feel so lucky to have had him as a surgeon, and I am grateful to the wonderful physical therapists who helped me through rehab. Dr. Goldberger was patient with my questions during every visit and gave me every confidence that I could do what I wanted with my left ankle/foot and I do. Thank you Dr. Goldberger. In addition, all the staff were professional and kind during every visit from scheduling to X-ray techs.”– Diane V.Patient Rating:
- “I came in with a left foot heel spur, protruding out of the back of my foot and an Achilles' tendon needed to be repaired- grafted, that had been shredding from the spur. Dr. M Goldberger has completely repaired all and now I am able to wear closed shoes! YEAH! I'm very happy with all that has been done through this lengthy process. Thank you to all who cared for me at this difficult time.”– Donna K.Patient Rating:
- “Very friendly, showed real concern about the options in front of me.”– Sigmund S.Patient Rating:
- “Dr. G. was the third orthopedic surgeon I saw for unrelenting ankle pain and weakness. He gave me the same diagnosis as the other two, but he was willing to let me try less invasive interventions until I was satisfied that surgery was the next best course of action. And that is important, for one to come to the same conclusion that their doctor has, on their own time. So fast forward to the surgery, a major procedure involving 8-10 weeks of non-weight bearing recovery and so far, 6 weeks of PT, with probably 8 more weeks of PT, and there has only been one very minor complication. I developed an ingrown toenail on the affected foot secondary to ongoing post-op dependent swelling, and they took care of that expertly as well. Coincidentally, I have a colleague at work who underwent the exact same procedure with another MD and she has had 3 major complications. Lesson here, the surgeon is very important. Dr. G is not a big talker, but if you ask questions, he will sit and answer. And don't let me forget his PA, Mariann C. Mariann does most of the dressing and cast changes, as well as other minor procedures, and is expert at her job as well. I highly recommend Dr. G. and Mariann.”– KPatient Rating:
- “Second time around for Dr. Goldberger to fix what I did to myself. I didn't even think of going to an ER, just called and got a same-day appointment. Such great care, I'll never go to another group for orthopedic care.”– Meredith L.Patient Rating:
