Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
If you’re experiencing hand pain or irritation, you may be suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. A condition caused by a pinching of the median nerve in your hand due to injuries, genetics, or repetitive use of your hands, carpal tunnel syndrome may hinder your ability to function at work or at home. Symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome may include hand numbness, finger pain, tingling, weakness, and inflammation of the hand and wrist.
Nonsurgical treatment methods, such as anti-inflammatory medications, a wrist brace, or cortisone injections, can decrease inflammation and pain while improving stabilization, but if unsuccessful in relieving your pain, your doctor may recommend surgery.
