Flatfoot Surgery
Most people with flat feet have little to no pain associated with their condition. However, for some people, flat feet can become extremely painful and cause problems throughout the body. When this is the case, flatfoot surgery may be recommended to help alleviate the pain.
Whether the condition is due to loose tendons in the foot or the bones having grown together, an orthopedic foot surgeon can treat your condition through surgery, by helping to tighten the tendons or fusing the joints into corrected positions.
Either of these procedures will require rest for a few days to a few weeks following surgery. However, once the foot is properly healed, arches left in the feet will make walking, running, and standing much more comfortable.
