Tennis Elbow Surgery
If you’re suffering from severe elbow pain due to tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, your doctor may recommend tennis elbow surgery. Tennis elbow surgery involves creating a series of small incisions around your elbow and accessing the diseased bones, cartilage, ligaments, or tendons using an arthroscopic camera, which allows the surgeon to view the procedure on a monitor. The surgeon may use arthroscopic tools to carefully repair or remove damaged cartilage, ligaments, or tendons.
Tennis elbow surgery is an outpatient procedure that will require you to be under local anesthesia. Post-surgery, you will be given pain medication and your elbow will be bandaged using a splint. Following your surgery, physical therapy is recommended in order to ensure a complete recovery.
