The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Goldman
- “I had my hip replaced by Dr. Goldman on July 30th. I restarted playing racquetball seven weeks later. Within three months, my game was better than before. I'm 69 years old. I had my right, playing shoulder done two years earlier by Dr. Montgomery. I was very much surprised and thankful for such a quick and great recovery.”– Leon S.
- “I recently had anterior approach hip replacement surgery and have only positive comments. Since this was the first time I had surgery, I was, of course, very apprehensive. Starting with my first appointment with Dr. Paul Lombardi, I immediately felt much calmer about the surgery. Dr. Lombardi spent time with me explaining the surgery and answering all my questions. From that point on, everything went smoothly, from the scheduling of the surgery with Jeannette (she is awesome), to my two follow-up appointments after surgery. Oliver Garcia is Dr. Lombardi's PA, and he is a pleasure to deal with. Very knowledgeable and patient. All my dealings with the Tri County staff have been great...everyone was responsive, customer focused and professional. I never had to wait longer than 15 minutes in the waiting area. In terms of the actual surgery, the anterior approach is the way to go. I was walking with a walker a few hours after surgery and went home the next day using a cane. I was able to walk without a cane in less than a week. The pain from the surgery was minimal and very bearable. It has now been six weeks since the surgery and I am almost !00%. I highly recommend Dr. Lombardi and Tri County Orthopedics.”– Louise E.Patient Rating:
- “I was operated on today, 8/11/15, and was out of surgery around 3ish in the afternoon. I walked the hall at around 10 this evening with the walker. Honestly, I probably could have walked without it, but I was afraid to try since I was on meds. Let me tell everyone out there that this doctor and his team are Heaven sent! No lie. I'm 59 and in pretty good shape. The only other surgery I had was for a deviated septum years ago, so needless to say, I was scared out of my mind. I was apprehensive the whole nine yards. I mean, this is major surgery. Until now, I know I need to recover slowly do things, build up my strength, etc. Now I have my confidence back and feel much younger inside. I hope and continue to pray to the Lord for a speedy recovery, as I know he worked through the doctors hands. I have a wonderful wife and 4 beautiful adult children who are also in my corner. Please don't be afraid and don't deal with the pain, as it's not worth it. We were all born in a fantastic time medically in history. So, take advantage of the medical marvels around you. I will never be afraid again of any procedure. Of course, I hope to never have to have one, but if I did, I would go for it.”– Anthony G.
- “There is no one else I would ever go to for orthopedic care. Dr. D'Agostini performed 2 surgeries during the many years I've been going to him. He really is the best!”– Ray C.Patient Rating:
- “Thank you to all for your response in my time of need. It felt like you all went out of your way to see me quickly. Dr. D'Agostini added me to an already long day for him to accomplish surgery on my ankle. It is all greatly appreciated and I couldn't be happier. Now, if I could just learn how to walk down steps without tripping!”– Jeff T.
- “From start to finish, I could not ask for a better result. Dr. Epstein's bedside manner was wonderful and the results of my rotator cuff surgery far exceeded my expectations. I am a 48 year old Certified Public Accountant. I am still very active and enjoy many different sports with friends and family. I am also a wrestling coach for our town's youth program. I had injured my right shoulder a few times over the last couple of years playing basketball. Each time my shoulder would heal somewhat, but it was always slightly worse than before. In January of this year, I had a full thickness tear of the rotator cuff during a wrestling practice. Dr. Epstein recommended surgery after reviewing the MRI. On February 19th, 2015, he anchored the torn muscles/tendons to the bone, removed a bone spur, and removed some arthritis. Many people I knew who had the surgery told me it would be a very difficult recovery, including Dr. Epstein, but Dr. Epstein told me that the rehab is a very important part of the recovery. I followed the instructions he gave me. I wore the sling and constantly iced the shoulder day and night. When he gave me the go ahead to start rehab, I worked hard in physical therapy and at home. I always pushed myself, but always under the direction of the physical therapist. It is now less than 5 months since my operation and I have been playing golf, shooting baskets, and having baseball catches with my 11 year old son. I even played tennis a few times last week. Thank you, Dr. Epstein and Tri County Orthopedics!”– Ken K.Patient Rating:
- “Better than I could have known. Five weeks post surgery and I am back in my kayak and pain free. Feeling fine!”– Paula B.Patient Rating:
- “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Epstein for repairing my ruptured bicep. Dr. Epstein and his staff were fantastic throughout all stages of my bicep repair (pre-op, surgery and post-op). Being an avid golfer and realizing it would take 3 months for my bicep to fully heal and that I probably wouldn't be able to play golf until the summertime, it was a very tough pill to swallow. I'm elated to say that my arm strength and flexibility was good enough for me to be playing golf 6 weeks after my surgery! Thanks again Dr. Epstein!”– Shane V.Patient Rating:
- “What a godsend to our family. Our daughter had been experiencing right leg pain for about two years. Erin would complain about this pain each time she had her physical examination but was always diagnosed as shin splints. The pain would increase while she was participating in basketball and track and field. She developed a raised area over her right shin which caused more concern. X-rays revealed nothing. They were always read as normal. Initial requests for a MRI were deemed unnecessary and denied. Our school made available to any family the use of a Sports Medicine Physician for Pope John sport physicals. We decided to give this a try. As usual, during her physical Erin voiced her concern about this constant right leg pain and the visible lump over her right shin. The difference this year, Dr. Padavan (Sports Medicine) listened. He went through a thorough sports history, when and where the pain occurs, all of her activities, and review of her footwear. I, as the parent, was tired of having my child complain of pain when my husband and I know she is not a complainer. Dr. Padavan asked to review the previous x-rays and his staff worked on obtaining authorization for a MRI. He was able to get the authorization for a MRI (Hallelujah). When the MRI was completed we were called in to his office to review the results. At that time, another x-ray was obtained directly in his office. As soon as Dr. Padavan put the MRI and the x-ray from his office on the screen, I could see the tibia fracture immediately! It was that clear. This was the source of her right leg pain all this time. We were referred immediately to Dr. Epstein to discuss all options. From the first meeting, our family loved Dr. Epstein. We had to wait in the waiting room for what seemed a long time, but once we were with Dr. Epstein, it was worth the wait. What I liked the most, Erin was included in all discussions (since she had to be the one to make the final decision about surgery). I appreciated all the options and detail that he provided in regards to surgery and the option of no surgical intervention. He has a very calm approach. Erin instantly trusted him. She decided to proceed with surgery. The whole process was so smooth. From the scheduling, to check in, to the anesthesia consultation, to Dr. Epstein reviewing with us, at the bedside, the upcoming procedure, to recovery, and discharge. At each follow-up visit, Dr. Epstein reviewed the x-ray of the day and what to expect. Our family felt that we were given his full attention each time we went in for a follow-up visit. Erin was finally discharged from follow-up in March. She was able to return to sports (the first up was track and field). She has been pain-free! She feels liberated. She is looking forward to her sports filled senior year in High School. Thank you Dr. Epstein. You are the best. I will recommend you to everyone.”– Benay J.
- “I met Dr. Epstein two years ago when I was experiencing pain in my right foot. After recovering from a partially torn right achilles, I still had lagging pain in my foot an lower ankle. As an athlete, I wanted desperately to get back on the field. Dr. Epstein reviewed my history and diagnosed me with accessory navicular syndrome and post-tibial tendinosis. In the initial visit, he spent a lot of time examining me, asking questions about my active lifestyle, and really getting to the source of the problem. Dr. Epstein began treating me through an aggressive rehab approach while trying to avoid an operative approach so I could continue playing. After several months of rehab and two cortisone shots, I ultimately needed surgery to remove the accessory navicular bone and to repair the tendon. When it was time for surgery, Dr. Epstein patiently explained what was going to happen before, during, and after surgery, which allowed me to feel comfortable going into surgery and the rehab process. As a teenager nervous for surgery, he made the experience so easy and comforted me throughout the entire process. His bedside manner and his ability to listen to your concerns and your desired outcomes makes him an exceptional doctor. Now nine months after surgery, I am feeling better than I was prior to surgery, and am currently living an active lifestyle and training for a half marathon. This would not have been possible without the care of Dr. Epstein. Plus, my scar looks great too!”– Taylor L.Patient Rating:
- “I suffered from nasty pain in my left knee, which grew worse over the years. One doctor treated it with topical ointment. The next doctor performed arthroscopic surgery. Neither did any good, and my pain and disability grew. Last fall, on the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment to see Dr. Stephen Hunt. He tested the range of motion and strength of my knees and x-rayed them. He showed me that the left knee was actually in better condition than the right one, leading him to believe that the problem stemmed from my left hip. I argued that it was my knee that hurt, not the hip. He said that pain follows different routes, and proceeded to x-ray both hips. There it was, clear even to me ,that he was correct. He was the only physician I went to who had the intellect, training, and experience to find the real source of my knee problem. Dr. Hunt surgically inserted my new hip. In January, the knee pain was gone, and I am grateful to have my life returned to me by this fine physician.”– Dale B.Patient Rating:
- “Marvelous job repairing my shoulder. It's been about 2 years now and I play tennis 3 times a week painlessly. Thank you, Dr. Ken.”– Thomas M.Patient Rating:
- “My 12yr old daughter is a competitor, she goes hard and plays at a very high level. During an AAU basketball game, an opposing player fell onto her and she tore her meniscus (and an upper ankle sprain). Her trainer, Steve Leo from Parisi Speed School was immediately on the phone with recommendations and Dr. Montgomery was top of his list. Anytime your child needs surgery or medical care, as a parent, you're nervous, inquisitive and seeking reassurance. Dr. Montgomery displayed top-notch expertise, providing extremely thorough examination and explanation for the process. He put my concerns at ease (as much as I could) and I knew she was in the best hands. The surgery went well and recovery was exactly as expected and as Dr. Montgomery had outlined. You want a doctor who is kind, caring, professional and expert in the field. Dr. Montgomery is all of these things. My daughter recovered to claim the MVP spot on her school basketball team and just this season played Varsity Soccer as a Freshman. She is stronger than ever and training hard for the next level. I won't lie - each time she has a collision, I hold my breath until she is up and running again, but clearly her surgery was a tremendous success and I thank Steve Leo for the recommendation and Dr. Montgomery for his talent and kind care he gave to my daughter. I'm a huge fan!”– Jodi A.Patient Rating:
- “Doctor Dag is the best in the business I would not go to anyone else. – Wayne C. ”– WaynePatient Rating:
- “Just want to thank the entire staff at Tri-County Orthopedics I had two surgeries on my shoulder, received nothing but the best care. It was a long road to recovery but well worth it. Thanks again, especially Dr. Willis and his team.”– Ed P.Patient Rating:

- “I went to see Doctor Epstein after I had seen another doctor five years prior to my visit, who told me that I needed knee replacement. When I went to Doctor Epstein, he sent me for an MRI and X-ray and determined that I only need an ACL. He informed me that in waiting the five years my ACL was gone and I needed a new one. He did the surgery (replaced the ACL) monitored my recovery and know I'm back to doing the things I could not do prior to my surgery. I'm very grateful to Doctor Epstein for his treatment and most of all for caring for his patients. He is a wonderful doctor who makes his patients feel like family and I recommend him and his staff very highly. By the way, the office visits were pleasant, the staff is outstanding, thank you. – Angel J. ”– AngelPatient Rating:
- “I had seriously sprained my right ankle as a teen (I am now 47). Since that time, it was always my weaker ankle and would on occasion roll or go over on me while just doing ordinary tasks like walking. In October 2014, I fell and seriously re-injured my right ankle. My regular ortho told me it was not broken but that it would probably need to be surgically fixed. He then sent me to his friend, Dr. David Epstein, who specializes in ankles. I was sent for X-rays and an MRI. Dr. Epstein told me of the many problems he found in my ankle; no bones broken but many stretched and torn ligaments (some torn off the bone), broken cartilage, and others that I can't even remember the name. Dr. Epstein discussed all of my options with me and we decided on the surgical repair. My surgery was scheduled for January; I wanted to wait until after the holidays. He explained in detail what he was going to be doing during the surgery; I like knowing all the details. Afterward, I had to keep my foot elevated as much as possible and could not put any weight on it for six weeks. All of my post-op visits went well. The office staffs at both the Cedar Knolls office and the Sparta office were very kind and efficient. At a certain point in my recovery Dr. Epstein prescribed physical therapy and I started PT a few times a week near my home. My surgery was on January 29th and by the end of June I was able to walk/run/jump without pain. I was done with PT and the doc said he didn't need to see me again unless I had any more problems. I still have to keep up with a few PT exercises on my own but I am back to walking and hiking without worrying about my ankle going out on me. Dr. Epstein and the staff of Tri-County Orthopedics helped me get through this difficult time in my life. I recommend them to anyone searching for an orthopedic doctor.”– Michele R.Patient Rating:
- “As a high school soccer player, I experienced pain in my left knee that not only continued for a year, but got worse. During the middle of my junior year, I met Dr. Epstein after a referral from another orthopedic doctor. As he observed my MRI's and other data he diagnosed a rip in the cartilage somewhere under my patella or OCD. Even with such an odd injury for someone of my age, 17, he remained confident that he could repair it. He also made the smart decision to repair it himself instead of hoping it would heal on its own and potentially affect another soccer season of my career. On the day of the surgery, he was thoroughly confident and kind as well as his entire staff. After the surgery, he stated it went well and there were no complications for him to express. He did a great job explaining recovery time and the methods of rehabilitation that would ensue. His interest and passion with his work but also my full recovery was clear and definitely aided in my rehabilitation. Dr. Epstein was a great doctor and surgeon before, during and after my surgery. He and his staff exemplify professionalism and compassion at all times and I would recommend them to all high school athletes as they followed me through the entire journey.”– Lorenzo R.Patient Rating:
- “Dr. Epstein was wonderful to work with! He has a great bedside manner, and I felt very comfortable not only with his understanding of what was going on with my knee, but also his expertise in surgically treating my torn meniscus. He is always easy to talk to, and I feel like he really cared about me as both a patient and a person. – Laura Q. ”– LauraPatient Rating:
- “I would like to thank you for the surgery you performed on my left foot on Oct 26, 2015. I would also like to thank you and your team for the wonderful care everyone provided me with before, during and after my surgery. I have been in the medical field almost thirty years and I was treated with dignity, respect and, above all, compassion. Your experience as a physician was evident from the very first initial consultation with you. Your physician assistant Ms. Marianne Cabezas was very professional and made feel very much at ease during the entire process. Tri-County Orthopedics provided me with a service which I will always be thankful and will never forget. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Goldberger to those who might be considering have foot or ankle surgery. ”– J.D.Patient Rating:

- “January 14, 2015, had a total knee replacement of the left leg, September 2, 2015, had a total knee replacement of the right leg. I am 77 years old have my life back and free from pain after 10 years. THANK YOU, Dr. Goldman – Elizabeth B. ”– ElizabethPatient Rating:
- “The entire experience was just incredible, after suffering with arthritis in both knees for more then 20 years, I`m pain free. I was afraid of the replacement surgery because of all the things you hear about when people have complications after surgery. When I was told to have both knees done at the same time I had a major dicision to make. I had bi-lateral knee replacement in May and after some hard rehab I was able to play a round of golf in September! I can`t say enough good things about Dr. Goldman and his team, who did an outstanding job . The entire staff is just great! Most of the time I forget I even have knee replacements! These guys are good! Thank you all.”– Allan M.Patient Rating:
- “Very nice young man. Treated me with respect. Our nickname for him at our bridge group is Dr. Mcdreamy! We all love him! – Evelyn S. ”– EvelynPatient Rating:
