The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Goldberger
  • “After not being listened to multiple times and told my ankle was as good as it was going to get by a doctor from another orthopedic group, I made an appointment for a second opinion at Tri-County Orthopedics. Thank God I did. I was listened to, looked directly in my eyes, shown my x-rays, and results were discussed with me. Then three options were discussed for treatment and I choose the best for me. I feel a much better outcome will result with my care with Dr. Goldberger, and I will walk again without aid, compete again with my Masters swimming, and finally get to swim in the National championships I missed last year from this injury. The office is clean, very professionally ran, and the staff were knowledgeable and polite. Even though this will be a hard road again, I feel that I am very good hands.”

  • ““After suffering from a broken ankle in three places and being treated improperly by another medical group, Dr. Goldberger came through with the answer almost one year ago. This April 20th my new Scandinavia ankle (the S.T.A.R) will be one year old in my left ankle joint. I am walking like nothing happened prior to the medical botched surgery of three years ago. Ankle Replacements are not heard of like a hip or a knee replacement, but with Dr. Goldberger's training and knowledge nothing is impossible. It is great to be able to move around, get up from a sitting position and walk a great distance without the terrible pain. I am so glad that he and I agreed to have this surgery. I was his first patient with the S.T.A.R implant - I don't regret one day of it. Being the age of 53 he gave me a second chance of being active again. Thank you!”-- Mary Beth C.”

  • “My husband Paul (Brad) had been living with severe hip and back pain for years. Brad felt it was occupationally related from years working in construction. Brad's quality of life was diminishing as he could no longer do activities that he enjoyed like riding a bike or hiking. He could not stand for long periods or sleep at night. Dr. Goldman has given Brad the ability to enjoy life again and engage in all the physical activities that he once did. Brad had one hip replaced the end of September 2012 and headed for a trip to Hawaii the end of October. (I might add that he was 66 at the time.) The end of March 2013 Brad had his second hip replaced by Dr. Goldman and was active within a month. He has recently been hiking sections of the Appalacian trail and I'm sure he appreciates being able to do this type of activity again. I am so grateful for all the superb care Brad received with Dr. Goldman and all his staff. Thanks to all of them my husband is pain free, active and happy. --Jeanne H.”

  • “The initial visit was excellent. My appointment was right on time, and I had gotten my X-rays and spoke with Dr. Goldman in less than 40 minutes. Overall, the experience so far has been good. I'm currently waiting to hear back on how my MRI looked. Just hoping it does take too long, kind of getting tired of hobbling around. I would defenitly recommend this facility to family and friends.”

  • “I would like to say thank you to Dr. Robert T. Goldman for his wonderful work. I got my first hip replaced on August 6, 2000 and my second hip replaced on November 12, 2000. I am still working and walking perfect thanks to you. I am currently living in Spain and every time I visit any doctor for a checkup, all of them say, you have done a wonderful job. They ask me who my doctor was for the procedures and my answer is Dr. Robert T. Goldman at Tri-County Orthopedics in New Jersey. I am doing great at the age of 40. I still play soccer and basketball, swim, bike, and walk.”

  • ““I've had both hips replaced, my left in 2007 and my right in 2008. I will be 49 years old on May 1. It was very scary contemplating this type of procedure at 45, but you get to a point where there really is no other choice. I was too young to give up the quality of life I was used to therefore the choice was very clear. Dr. Goldman was very clear and precise. I knew immediately that he was the man for the job. His confidence was most reassuring in this very stressful time of my life. In both instances I was back to work four weeks later. As a captain in the banquet department of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, I am on my feet and walking all day long supervising banquet events. I train hard at the gym and continue my martial arts training. There are some days, I can honestly say, that I don't even think about my hips. Thank you, Dr. Goldman, for giving me my life back. God bless you and your family.”-- Luis A.”

  • “My son, Ryan, injured his elbow playing baseball this summer. Since he has been previously treated by Dr. Hunt for other injuries incurred in the past (including the same elbow), I naturally decided it was best to bring him back to the doctor who knows him best. As always, Dr. Hunt was diligent in his analysis, accurate in his assessment of the injury, and professional with his treatment. Beyond just being an orthopedic doctor, he also has developed a connection (I'll call it a relationship) with both me and my son that makes this unpleasant situation much better by coming to Dr. Hunt. He recommended Ryan go for an arthrogram, which as he suspected, showed a slight tear in a ligament in his elbow. Once he got the results, he explained the various options available to get Ryan on the road to recovery. I am glad to say that he is progressing well so far.”

  • “I was treated by a few different doctors for the excruciating pain in my groin. I had four injections in my spine, went to see Dr. Lombardi and he diagnosed my hip problem, and had hip replacement surgery. Two months later I was back teaching ballroom dance! It is hard to put into words the joy I feel now that I can move pain free!  The entire staff is wonderful especially Dr. Oliver Garcia. I would highly recommend this group - they know their stuff!!!!!”
    – Paula M.
  • “I was having severe pain in my hip that was replaced one year earlier. I went to Dr. Lombardi for a second opinion because the doctor I used for the original surgery recommended that I go for revision surgery. Dr. Lombardi examined me and recommended a injection in my bursar sack before we talk about surgery. I have been doing well since about a year and a half later. I'm thankful I decided to see Dr. Lombardi.”

  • “They were very professional and very efficient.  The staff was fantastic.  I went into the pre-screening exam wondering what to expect on surgery day, and they eased my anxiety.”
    – Dan M.
  • “The staff was wonderful and compassionate. I've had many surgeries before at different facilities. The care I received at Tri-County Orthopedics is unmatched. Dr. Mark McBride was exceptional. Great bedside manner—reassuring and honest!”
    – Jennifer C.
  • “Tri-County Orthopedics bent over backwards to help me when I broke my hand. I was able to get an appointment right away, and Dr. Willis and his team gave me the best treatment possible. They have provided me with excellent care and are monitoring my recovery very closely. I have been very happy with the close personal attention I have received. Thank you very much.”

  • “After falling on my elbow in a parking area, I completely shattered it. I was driven by ambulance to Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. I had never experienced such excruciating pain before. I was x-rayed and the technician's remark after seeing the result was, No wonder you're in so much pain. My wife had driven to Overlook and I asked her to call the orthopedic surgeon who earlier saved my mother-in-law's leg from a pool accident. She called Dr. Colizza and he instructed Shelly to send me up in an ambulance to reserve an OR for immediate surgery. The nurse injected me with morphine so I could handle the pain. Dr. Colizza was just ready to leave the hospital that Friday to prepare for his vacation to Europe the next day. Dr. Colizza made all the arrangements for me to come in for an emergency surgery and it went off without a hitch. He implanted a 7 stainless steel plate and nine screws in my arm. The surgery was a complete success and after three months of prescribed physical therapy, I had more than 90% range of motion. I will never forget Dr. Colizza putting his patient first while delaying his personal plans. He was and is a lifesaver.”

  • “Dr. Ginsberg was very professional and friendly.”

  • “I had an unsuccessful Bunionectomy and hammertoe surgery eight years ago. My bunion returned and my hammertoe was not straight and did not purchase (touch the ground). I saw two other surgeons before I chose Dr. Michael Goldberger. The other two surgeons claimed my tendon around my hammertoe could not be released nor repaired. Dr. Goldberger was very confident that he could repair it and he did! He also successfully removed a neuroma from my left foot at the same time. I have been running for 35 years and I now have a titanium plate in my right foot. It’s been five months post surgery and I am now in a partial run/walk workout. I have minimal scarring and I am very pleased with my progress. I do not feel the plate when I walk or run. My only regret is that Dr. Goldberger did not perform my first surgery! Christian Spencer was extremely patient with my recovery questions as well. Their staff is professional and pleasant. Appointments were on time and the overall experience was top notch. I highly recommend Dr. Goldberger and his team.”

  • “I have been seeing Dr. Goldberger for about five years for various ankle Injuries. When seeing Dr. Goldberger for the first time I was actualy walking on the base of my left leg not the foot itself. After several minor ankle surgeries I had to have a minimally invasive ankle replacement (three years ago). About six months after the replacement, I was completely done with physical therapy and three more months later I was walking like I did 30 years ago. Without this type replacement surgery I wouldn't being doing all the activities that I enjoy; walking, camping, gardening, and keeping up with my one year old grandson. The pain/recovery of this surgery is very extensive, but is was so worth it. Dr. Goldberger works with you all long during recovery as a caring orthopedic surgeon!”

  • “It has been several years since I last visited Tri County, but I was very pleased with the new office location as well as the office itself.  I had an appointment with Dr. Goldman, whom I had never met before, but I was quite pleased by his friendly approach. Most of all, I was pleased with his knowledge and being able to present it in a way that was understandable to the common layman.  I like him a lot, as he cut to the chase and gave you the details regarding your problem.  I was impressed and he immediately instilled in me my confidence in him.  I will need to have hip replacement surgery soon, and feel very comfortable in having Dr. Goldman perform it.  No hesitations on my part.  So, although it had been awhile, I was most pleased from my dealings with the staff at the desk to the techs in X-ray, and the nurses assisting.  Thanks from me for making it a pleasant experience.”

  • “Dr. Hunt is the epitome of professionalism. He is truly one of the best in the business and a credit to the profession. After 25 years of intense athletic activity, both of my hops were in bad shape resulting from impingement and labral tears. Over the course of a year, Dr. Hunt performed two successful surgeries allowing me to resume my professional career as the Chief Israeli Krav Maga U.S. instructor. Dr. Hunt, an athlete himself, provides invaluable to support and facilitate the recovery process.”

  • “I was referred to Dr. Goldberger from my primary care physician. Dr. Goldberger examined me for a very painful left big toe. He diagnosed it as a typical mature person's dilemma when the cartilage between the bones wears out. We discussed various remedies, which are still in progress. I thought that the entire experience in your office, and with the attending staff was courteous and excellent.”

  • “I do not have the words to describe what a nice human being Dr. Paul Lombardi is.  Each and every meeting with him was amazing and re-assuring. Just seeing him would put my mind at ease. He had such a calming effect that I could just tell I will be fine with his care. I had double knee surgery last year and it has changed my life for the better. I kept putting off the surgery for a long time until I met him. Just seeing how sure he was about everything he told me, all my fears vanished. I cannot thank Dr. Lombardi enough. He is the best, and what a nice, kind doctor with a human touch.”

  • “My first appointment with Dr. Goldman was in October of 2009.  Arrangements to have my left hip replaced were made and the surgery was at the end of January 2010. Everything went very well, and I recovered quickly. I could have gone home after 3 or 4 days, but decided to go to Runnels for rehab. I was there less than a week and was driving in three weeks from the time of the surgery. My care at Morristown Memorial was superb and the physical therapy at Runnels was excellent. I had a nice relationship with Dr. Goldman and felt that he was outstanding as a physician and a surgeon. Hopefully, the other hip will remain healthy, but should it need to be replaced, I would call Dr. Goldman in a heartbeat. Long may he continue to add years of mobility to folks like me... am now 77...not old, just reaching perfection. (-: ”

  • “My experience with Dr. Lombardi and Tri - County Orthopedics can only be described as excellent in every way.  I'm a 77 year old man who has had knee problems since childhood, compounded by trying to be a high school and semi-pro football hero injuring both knees many times. I had procedures on both knees over the years and tried all of the treatments available including synvisc and diet supplements, which worked fairly well for me. Finally, the crunching and creaking every time I bent over and doing stairs one-step at a time, got to be too much. When they started to be unstable, especially on the stairs, I said it’s either the knees or risk falling down the stairs and doing hips as well as knees or worse. Several friends had hips done by the group and all said their treatment and recovery were excellent.  Because of my age, Dr. Lombardi said he would not do both knees at the same time. So one was done last April and the other in August. Both experiences were more than satisfactory. Replacement Monday morning, walking with walker around nurse’s station several times on Tuesday, stairs with crutches on Wednesday, and home on Thursday afternoon. Painless in both cases. After nerve block and intravenous medication in the hospital, the strongest pain medication I took was a couple of Tylenol. Experience with hospital nurses, staff, food, and a private room etc., superior.  At home, I had visits from nurse three times and therapist six times and was released to out patient therapy. Driving the second week and six weeks of therapy and done.  Seven months later, I can easily walk my mile everyday, do steps like I did twenty years ago, and have no excuse to not do my yard work or my little repairs around the house. I did take the knee bending machine and the therapy exercises seriously and did the required reps religiously, in the hospital, at home and in out patient therapy.  I am very appreciative of Dr. Lombardi's skills and ability as well as the treatment and kindness shown by Tri-County Orthopedics and Morristown Medical Center.”

  • “I had total right hip replacement 2/12/14. The hip feels wonderful. I am waiting to have my left side done soon. Unfortunately, my incision is having difficulty healing. I went back into surgery in the end of March to clean the wound and they placed me on a wound vac. The incision is being treated by a wound specialist and is healing well, but slowly. I have been asked by friends, “Aren't you afraid to have the second hip done?” I reply, “No, not at all.” Even if I had to go through this problem with the incision again, it is well worth it not to live in pain everyday from your hip degeneration. I think Dr. Goldman did an excellent job and I am looking forward to having the second one done soon. I have increased a lot of walking since this new hip. I can't wait to be totally out of pain from the second hip.”
