The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Lombardi
  • “There is only one word to describe my experience with Tri-County Orthopedics and that word is WONDERFUL. Dr. Paul Lombardi and his staff put me at ease immediately with my condition and the scheduling of my surgery. I had anterior bi-lateral hip surgery, which was successful and practically pain free. Dr. Lombardi and his assistant Oliver were at the hospital everyday to check on my status and answer all my questions with such care and concern. They made me feel like I was a VIP. (More doctors should take lessons from him). I don't know any of Dr. Lombardi's partners but, if they are anything like him, they are great too.  Thank you, thank you and thank you to an awesome doctor and his dedicated staff. They made sure I had my surgery stress free. They left me with the knowledge that I could call them and they were there for me all the time. A special extra thank you to Jeanette in scheduling and Shakina in prescriptions.”

  • “I suffered for an entire year with a stress fracture in my large toe on my left foot. You name it, I had everything from sever pain, foot brace, then foot boot, constant fever in the instep. A podiatrist just didn't do the job.  My son, who works with the group, made me make an appointment with Dr. Goldberger. The first visit was all it took. He diagnosed the proper care, orthotics, and prescription gel. I can finally walk my 2 miles a day, pain free.”
    – Barbara P.
  • “I had hip replacement surgery last June. Dr. Lombardi explained that since I was having an anterior approach, my recovery would not be that bad. He was right. I was walking within one week of the surgery.”
    – Carol M.
  • “I had a right and left hip replacement done and could not have asked for a better doctor.”
    – Chris C.
  • “It started with knee pain on the right! Ouch! Went to Dr. D'Agostini and sure enough, I was on the surgery table with my first knee replacement, mind you I was in my early 50's! He told me, Do what I tell you, exercise, and you will have a good result.” I did and it is fantastic. Well, I needed the left leg done and that has been even better! I do squats, walking, biking, swimming, etc., and no pain. Don't wait, get it done, and forego the pain. It is worth it.”

  • “My experience with Tri-County Orthopedics has always been a great experience. I have always found everyone to be professional, very helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. They are always applying the most current medical information needed to treat our family.  My daughter is an active soccer player, and our interaction with Drs. McBride and Ginsberg has been exceptional. Both were able to provide a completely accurate diagnoses and prescribed the right treatments for the injuries. These doctors genuinely possess a great deal of compassion, and truly do understand the complexity of sports related injuries. I personally think their strategic alliance with SportsCare is a critical one for patients and one that I have utilized for our family. It makes it a lot easier to visit your doctor on one floor and have a therapy session on another floor in the same building, having these all in one location without additional driving. Dr. Colizza performed my knee surgery almost one year ago.  He's extremely professional, knowledgeable, and all of his recommendations were accurate and beneficial. My knee surgery was a completely professional and pleasant experience.  Surgery can always create a little apprehension. From admitting, to pre-op, surgery and post-op, it was truly the best surgical experience I have ever had. The staff was very professional, extremely pleasant, and made me feel very relaxed. It was a very peaceful environment, and I quickly realized that I was in the hands of some of the best professionals in our area. The private surgical experience for me is preferred for any future surgeries. For me, the doctor/patient relationship is an important component to the success of any procedure and full recuperation. I have to trust and respect the doctor(s) standing in front of me. I can unequivocally state that every doctor that I have interacted with at Tri-County Orthopedics has our complete trust, confidence, and respect. I have never doubted a diagnosis or treatment, and more importantly, I have never had a reason to do so.”
    – Catherine M.
  • “I was in constant pain, walking with a cane and I finally decided to have my hip replaced. I had surgery on Friday, went home Sunday. After a short recovery period, I was and have been pain free now for over 2 years. Why didn't I do it sooner!”
    – Georgia C.
  • “I was injured while at dance class, shortly before I turned 15. The diagnosis was torn fibers in my Achilles. After a year of physical therapy, casts, boots, natural remedies, etc., I was recommended to Tri-County Orthopedics. Dr. Goldberger recommended surgery because we had tried everything else. Finally, over a year later, after having surgery, during my spring break, less than 3 months later, I'm living life as a 16-year-old should. I'm planning to return to dance after being side lined for over a year. I appreciate Dr. Goldberger and the entire staff at Tri-County Orthopedics for giving me back my life.”

  • “I had a completely flat foot with a very bad bunion. I proceeded to see Dr. Goldberger to assess the options I had as far as treatment went. I started with custom-made orthotics and followed the doctor’s orders. After 6 months, I saw improvement as fair as pain is concerned. I booked another appointment with Dr. Goldberger and he explained the next step was surgery. The surgery would consist of anywhere from 2 to 4 parts. He discussed with me the options of doing a bunionectomy, the Evan's procedure for calcaneal/metatarsal lengthening, with a possibility of an Achilles' tendon lengthening and lengthening of the ligaments in my toes. After being prepped at the out-patient center for surgery, both Dr. Goldberger and his PA came and re-explained the whole procedure and explained that we would be doing the bunionectomy, the Evan's procedure, and the Achilles' tendon lengthening. Post-op, the pain was minimal thanks to a suggested nerve block as well as necessary medication. The first week of post-op was the most painful, but after the second week, almost all pain was either gone or minimal and swelling decreased tremendously. I am very satisfied with Dr. Goldberger's work, and will return to do the other foot!”

  • “I got my new knee in March. I healed well and fast. I expect to make an appointment to have the other one done, hopefully before September. Dr. Goldman did a great job on me. Glad I got it done.”
    – Vincent S.
  • “I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2006. I began to have numerous pains in joints all over my body. I started with one rheumatologist and was put on medication. My faith was strong and I firmly believe God's hand has been on me.  I never had to go on strong pain medication and my sleep was never affected. I did give up my position as a vascular technologist and became disabled. Family struggled with the loss of both parents, my daughter-in-law's illness, and my intellectually disabled son continued to add stress. I changed my rheumatologist and received a more definitive diagnosis, but the pain continued. I received numerous injections that only provided temporary relief. Finally, the rheumatologist called me Crippled!” It was like a light had gone off and I knew I had to get more help. I sought my internist's recommendations with a prayer and he referred me to Dr. Goldman. I saw Dr. Goldman in January and my bilateral replacement was scheduled on March 13. I am so grateful and my heart is overwhelmed! I can walk. I usually am ahead of my husband always now! Recently, I had the joy of attending the USA Special Olympics for my son, which he won 2 Gold medals. Thank You, Tri County Orthopedics. Especially, Dr. Goldman. God Bless You!!”

  • “I had a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder, from over 25 years of abusing it playing softball. I took up triathlon in 2010, but the torn rotator cuff and eventually was in desperate need of repair. I had about a 99% tear, literally hanging on by a thread.” Dr. Hunt patched me up in January of 2012, and after following his instructions to a tee with physical therapy, I was back to swimming 4 months later. I completed a half-ironman triathlon 7 months post-surgery. After 18 months post surgery, I completed an Ironman in July 2013, which includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112 miles of biking, and a 26.2-mile run. Thank you Dr. Hunt for everything you have done for me, for never even thinking/suggesting I give up the active lifestyle I love, but instead working with me to get me back stronger than ever!”

  • “I am a serious athlete and compete in biking, skiing, racquetball, skydiving, scuba diving, and golf. My hip went bad in a span of 2 months. I was very nervous that my sports were done. I am also a contractor and climb ladders all day long. I also thought that my business could be finished. Dr. Paul Lombardi told me that I would be 100% in a short time. The first 2 days after surgery were hard and I needed a cane to get around. I woke up on day 3 and felt much better. I got on my bike and went off for a 20-mile bike ride with no problem. I was able to skydive in 5 weeks with no problem and was playing racquetball in 6 weeks. It is a miracle that I am back to my old self and don't even think about my hip anymore. Dr. Lombardi did a great job on my hip and my confidence in my ability to continue with my life. I am also 70 years old, so it is never too late to get your life back.”
    – Larry T.
  • “I had a full knee replacement on December 19th. From the time I had my pre-op tests and stayed to listen to the nurse and physical therapist, all was in detail of what I would expect. The day of surgery was great and was taken on time. Seems hard to believe, but it was only an hour like they told me. The care at Morristown Memorial was exceptional. The nursing staff and physical therapy staff was pleasant, explaining everything they were going to do. It's been six months. I have been able to play golf again and do things I couldn't do with the pain I had before this surgery.  Dr. Lombardi and his associate also were exceptional.”
    – Michael Y.
  • “Dr. Lombardi replaced my left hip 14 months ago. I was operated on a Tuesday at noon and was in my room by 2:00 p.m. that afternoon. I was released from the hospital less then 24 hours later. I was instructed to use a cane for one week, and advised to return for a check up. After the check up, Dr. Lombardi told me to throw the cane away. Since the operation, I have been performing my normally activities, including working out at the gym 4-5 times per week. I am a 67-year-old male and my hip feels great. Good luck to those considering a hip replacement. Dr. Lombardi is great to deal with, and is great at what he does.”
    – Vinnie G.
  • “I have to start by saying that in my 15 years of going threw cancer and other issues in my life, I have not had the best treatment by medical professionals until now. Dr. Hunt is the most compassionate doctor that I have come across in a long time. I had surgery on the 26th of March for my hip, and he made me feel so comfortable. He is not just a doctor, he is a human with a caring heart. I had a lot of issues with myself, dealing with depression and feeling lost, not trusting doctors or nursing staff, but thanks to Dr. Hunt, I feel so much better, and I now know I am going to have my life back again, thanks to his hard work with me. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done. I also have to say thank you to Gary, Dr. Hunt's PA. He is the most compassionate person to deal with as well. I confided in Gary what I went threw these past 15 years and he listened and took action not to let anything happen to me like it did in the past, so I am truly blessed to have both Dr. Hunt and Gary taking care of me.”

  • “I live in Hunterdon County and have an orthopedist close by. Tri-County Orthopedics was recommended to me, and I am eternally grateful. Dr. Epstein explained my daughter's injury as to why and how it happened. Prior to surgery, he showed her what he was going to do. This put her at ease, and she knew she was in capable hands. As a parent, you want the best for your child. At Tri-County Orthopedics, I found that team. Thank you so much for everything.”

  • “I put off bilateral knee replacement surgery for many years. Finally, barely able to walk, I had no choice but to have my knees replaced. After much research, I asked two of my doctors if they had any suggestions. Without hesitation, each recommended Dr. Lombardi. I made the appointment that day. Dr. Lombardi has an outstanding resume and at Tri-county Orthopedics, a good reputation. Dr. Lombardi reviewed the medical information and determined that a bilateral knee replacement was called for. As I mentioned the upcoming surgery to friends and neighbors, I was amazed by the number of nurses and former patients who stressed Dr. Lombardi was the only doctor to consider. On April 27th, the surgery went forward as planned at Morristown Hospital. That hospital has a high rating for knee surgery and a special emphasis on eliminating infections. The staff, especially nursing staff, were superior. They were friendly and knowledgeable. The night staff was as professional and concerned as the day staff. Dr. Lombardi immediately met with my family after the surgery. Furthermore, Dr. Lombardi and his assistant, Oliver, were sure to visit me that day and each day I was in the hospital. I came to the understanding that he was communicating with the therapist and nurse regarding post surgery treatment. Wherein the first day, they leaned toward a few days at in-house therapy. My steady progress was encouraging and the team decided I could go home directly from my hospital stay. I have had never heard of nurses, therapists, or doctors communicating about a patient's health. I strongly recommend Dr. Lombardi. From the moment I came out of surgery, I could tell Dr. Lombardi had done an astounding job. I seldom experienced the intense pain so many knee patients have experienced. The strong pain medication I had was seldom utilized. Within a week, I was using a cane and now less than five weeks from surgery, I can walk nearly an hour using a walking stick for confidence not support. During my first therapy evaluation, the therapist was amazed at my status. And yes, the therapist ask for the name of the surgeon for a family member. Bilateral knee surgery is not something to enter without a great deal of thought. If you do decide to take this step, Dr. Lombardi 's office should be one of the first phone calls you make.”

  • “I went to Tri-County Orthopedics for a second opinion, and eventually, surgery for ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair. In addition to the excellent surgical job and a steady rehabilitation tract, Dr. Epstein treated me with respect and dignity, connecting on a personal and friendly level, while keeping a professional and helpful attitude as my doctor. I was fully cleared to return back to football and other sports 9 months later. I am very grateful for Dr. Epstein, and the entire Tri-County Orthopedics team, who's expert skill, friendly smiles, and welcoming attitude made my journey through a traumatizing injury, a memorable one for countless good reasons.”

  • “I had a meniscus repair in April of 2013. I was never a runner, but had the interest. I was able to start running in November of 2013 and entered a January 5k race.  My first race ever. Since then, I have competed in 17 races over 17 months and the streak continues! I have done 5ks, 10ks, a 1/2 marathon relay ,and a triathalon. My 18th race will be a sprint triathlon in June of 2015. Thank you, Dr. Lombardi! Did I mention that I am 54 years young!”

  • “On December 29, 2012, I slipped and fell on black ice, shattering my right knee into 3 pieces. Dr. David Epstein repaired it surgically. Thanks to his knowledge and expertise, my knee has healed well and both knees are fully functioning. Woo Hoo! There is also minimal scaring.  ;-)  His expert care and kindness led to an amazing recovery! Dr. Epstein is an outstanding orthopedist, and I recommend him without reservation!! Thank you, Dr. Epstein!!”

  • “I was seeing another doctor for treatment for arthritis in both of my knees. The doctor told me that eventually I would need surgery on my knees. In the mean time, he would give me cortisone shots and a series of gel shots to relieve the pain. In the spring of 2013, I decided that due to increased pain, it was time to have the knee surgery. The problem was that the surgery on my right knee, according to my doctor, was going to have to be at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. I really wanted to be treated at Morristown Medical Center. I was going to Sportscare for physical therapy and they recommended that I see Dr. Lombardi. He asked me why I needed to see him and I explained my story. Dr. Lombardi had me walk for him, and upon doing so. He suggested that he wanted to x-ray my hips!!! My other doctor had NEVER even mentioned ANYTHING about my hips. Dr. Lombardi showed me the x-rays and my right hip was bone-on-bone. He went on to explain that I needed hip surgery and NOT knee surgery. When I asked him, What about my knee pain? He explained that after my hip surgery, my knee pain would be GONE!!! Dr. Lombardi was able to schedule my right hip replacement in August 2013. The day after the surgery, I woke to NO knee pain and was able to return to work in one month!”

  • “I had surgery on my shoulder on March 20, 2014, with other little problems. My surgery went well. Follow-up and my doctor were excellent. I would highly recommend Tri-County Orthopedics.”

  • “I came to Tri-County Orthopedics and met Dr. Lombardi in March of 2014. At that time, I was unable to sit, stand, lie down, sleep, or go up or down stairs. My pain level was off the charts due to severe arthritis in my left hip. I had surgery on April 15th, and was home on April 17th. The surgical procedure and post-op hospital stay could not have been better. My level of pain was minimal. They had me up and walking the next day, and showed me how to get around during my recuperation period. I started outpatient physical therapy 3 weeks after surgery, and as of this writing, it has been 3 months since surgery. I have gotten my life almost completely back. My only regret is that I didn't get the surgery done a year earlier. I now have an appreciation for life that I didn't have before. I don't take it for granted, and all the little things that I never gave much thought to before, mean so much to me now. Many thanks to all the great folks at Morristown Medical Center, Dr. Lombardi, Oliver, and the staff at Tri-County Orthopedics, as well as Ken and staff at physical therapy. I also want to thank my wife Susan, who made this possible and took great care of me while I was in need.”
