2015 Athlete Appreciation Night a success
On March 26, more than 140 local athletes and fitness enthusiasts gathered at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel for Tri-County Orthopedics' annual Athlete Appreciation Night, featuring guest speaker and decorated cyclist Bob Roll.
This year's guest speaker is a former professional cyclist, author, and road cycling expert television commentator, who covers the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Paris Roubaix, Tour of California, and international cycling road races. He was a member of the 7-Eleven Cycling Team until 1990 and competed for the Motorola Cycling Team in 1991. Roll has penned many columns in VeloNews in addition to his books Bobke: A Ride on the Wild Side of Cycling, Bobke II, and two volumes of Tour de France Companion.
Roll delivered a stirring speech and presentation and was available to guests at the reception for meet and greets as well as a book signing.
"We were fortunate to have a wonderful turnout for our Athlete Appreciation Night again this year, and I think it is a testament to the value our community places on health and wellness," says Dr. Andrew Willis, sports medicine surgeon at Tri-County Orthopedics. "This year's event was inspiring, energetic, and entertaining. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to interact with and listen to our guest speaker, Bob Roll, and we certainly enjoyed the chance to celebrate the athletic successes of local residents and former patients."
