Michael I. Goldberger, M.D., and Newark Help Center to Host Free Foot Health Event Nov. 24
Renowned foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Michael Goldberger is set to host an annual foot care and footwear charity event for the local homeless community. Dr. Goldberger, who has been part of the event for 18 years, is partnering with nonprofit social service organization Urban Renewal Corp. to help serve people this year. A community staple for nearly two decades, this charitable initiative is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 24, from 12:45 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Newark Help Center, 224 Sussex Ave.
Dr. Goldberger and his team at Tri-County Orthopedics will be providing free foot health exams, routine care and new winter shoes and jackets to those in need. This event is focused on offering essential foot and ankle care to vulnerable populations during winter. In addition to foot care, they will also be providing lunch. The services offered will include:
- Routine foot care.
- Conducting foot health screenings.
- Providing donated winter jackets and comfortable new pairs of shoes.
“We are so happy to partner once more with Urban Renewal Corp., and we are honored to offer something that can make a real impact for the season,” Dr. Goldberger said. “I am so grateful for our fellow hosts and volunteers because this event really helps others get back on their feet.”
